Este pasado fin de semana, después de dos meses de preparación, narré Flying Circus en una convención. Fue una sesión de 3.5 horas donde guié a un grupo de desconocides a través de una aventura, esperando darles una muestra general del juego. Aunque quedé satisfecha con el resultado, hubo cosas que podrían haber mejorado. Esto es lo que hice y lo que haré la próxima vez que dirija Flying Circus.

This past weekend, after two months of preparation, I ran Flying Circus as a convention game. It was a 3.5-hour slot where I guided a group of strangers through a session, hoping to give them a taste of the overall game. While I was satisfied with the overall outcome, there were areas that could have been improved. This is what I did and what I will do next time I run Flying Circus.

Marzo de 2020. COVID-19. Mi pareja y yo dejamos de ir a nuestra tienda local de juegos. Para este punto ella juega más RPGs que yo, amo los juegos de rol, pero soy más aficionada a los juegos de mesa. Jugamos Pasión de las Pasiones en línea con algunos amigos y nos divertimos. Jugar en línea es un poco incómodo, pero funciona más o menos para los juegos de rol, y como nuestro intento de jugar Gloomhaven en línea demostró, simplemente no funciona bien para los juegos de mesa.

March 2020. COVID-19. Me and my partner stop going to our local game shop, at this point she plays more RPGs than I do, I love roleplaying games, but I’m much more of a board gamer. We play Pasión de las Pasiones online with some friends we have fun. Online is clunky but kind of works for rpgs, and as our attempt at online Gloomhaven proves it’s just bad for board games.

Es enero de 2023 y WotC está haciendo el mayor desastre que han hecho, así que la gente, o más bien los usuarios, están buscando alternativas y cada diseñadorx que haya escrito algo relacionado con fantasía está expresando su opinión. Y sin embargo, a pesar de tantos juegos que he leído, no conozco un solo juego que realmente pueda reemplazar a la 5ta edición de D&D.

It’s January 2023 and WotC is making the biggest mess they’ve done, so people, or rather users, are looking for alternatives and every single designer that’s written anything fantasy related is throwing their hat on the ring. And yet, even with as many games I’ve read I don’t know of a single game that can actually replace 5e.

I’ve just added support for Mothership and 2d20 “Desert Planet” to Yonder Dice Roller! Mothership is the first of my attempts to mix the improvements I coded for 2d20 with all of my previous components. It works but there will be improvements in the future.

Yonder Dice Roller now supports 2d20 games! This took a while as I thought of new more flexible ways to roll and re-roll dice. These updates take a while because I’m a single developer and I kind of make them as I run new games so I thank everyone who has tried Yonder and gotten back to me.
